For over 50 years, the Blackburn Ladies Softball League has provided many women with great memories of playing a game they love, softball. Our goal as a recreational league is to have fun, create everlasting memories, and improve our softball skills.

 

We are an orthodox-pitch league, and we always welcome new ladies to come and register with us. The pre-requisites are that you are over 18, and want to join a league whose primary goal is to have fun.

 

Each year, approximately 60 women register as individuals to the league, and the executive team works hard to build diverse, yet equally skilled teams.  Unlike other leagues, we do not allow for group registrations, and therefore, we do not have “stacked” teams.  The idea is to form teams with players of all abilities, creating an environment with more interesting game play, and healthy competition.  

 

The unique structure of the Blackburn Ladies Softball League provides a safe space for a diverse group of women, with varied athletic abilities, from different social-economical backgrounds, races, religions, sexual orientations, and medical conditions, to get out and play a good game of ball.

 

Our regular season runs from the beginning May through to the end of September, at the Blackburn Arena Softball Diamond, located at 200 Glen Park Drive, in Blackburn Hamlet, Ottawa.  

 

Player registration includes pre-season games, regular season games, and playoffs.  Our intention is to play all games, and any rain out game during regular season will be played at a later date.  Each player is also invited to join us at for our end of year banquet, where we celebrate the season!

2)    cash or cheque - payable to Blackburn Ladies Softball League at our in-person registration nights

3)    gift certificate
